Chairs for Charity - With the designs sent off to print it is time to focus on the finishing touches, inspired greatly by some recent layouts in magazines and websites I began by collaging my visualisation for the concept book. Although my designs are CAD I wanted them all to have a handmade feel to them, using collage and textures was very important, so I wanted to continue this theme within the concept book.

Chairs for Charity - Little toucan. With the deckchair being a long thin canvas and how the fabric drapes means careful consideration into where the design elements sit on the canvas. Having made the decision that the traditional stripe is something I want in my designs I began playing around with it being a more organic stripe, less regimented, using disperse dyes and the heat press with large pieces of wallpaper.

Chairs for Charity -                             Parrots - Birds of the Atlantic Rainforest in Brazil. Considering the idea of my designs having a hand-made feel lead to using collage to create some of the design elements, focusing on textured papers to make the design less 2D.
