Chairs for Charity -  One of the final five designs for the Chairs for Charity competition.

Chairs for Charity - Little toucan. With the deckchair being a long thin canvas and how the fabric drapes means careful consideration into where the design elements sit on the canvas.
Having made the decision that the traditional stripe is something I want in my designs I began playing around with it being a more organic stripe, less regimented, using disperse dyes and the heat press with large pieces of wallpaper.

Chairs For Charity

Following assessment period the new brief is a live project collaboration between The World Land Trust, Southsea Deckchairs and Winchester School of Art.

Winchester School of Art has worked with The World Land trust previously with the Save it With a Scarf campaign in May 2011. This was a collaboration involving Liberty London.

The brief has five different themes; Big Cats, Parrots, Coral Reef and Mangroves, Orangutans and Elephants.
